How Offers Are Listed and Ranked

How the price comparison works (French Consumer Code, articles L. 111-7 and D. 111-7 et seq.)

In Short

  • 54 online retailers are listed today (retailers whose offers were checked in the last 7 days). The comparison is not exhaustive.
  • Free listing: no retailer pays to be listed or to rank higher.
  • By default, a product’s offers are ranked by price, from cheapest to most expensive.
  • Some links are affiliate links: we may receive a commission, with no effect whatsoever on the ranking.

Which Retailers Are Listed

Build My Rig lists online retailers that sell sim racing hardware: specialist shops, brands selling direct and general retailers. We automatically collect the prices, availability and product information they publish on their websites, then match each offer to the corresponding product in our catalogue.

Retailers are chosen editorially: we favour those with a significant range of sim racing hardware. Being listed does not depend on any payment or partnership. A retailer that wants to be listed can write to contact@buildmyrig.gg.

The comparison is not exhaustive: not every retailer on the market is listed, and a listed retailer may sell products we have not yet matched to our catalogue.

When Offers and Retailers Are Removed

  • An offer stops being shown when the product has not been found on the retailer’s website for 7 days, or is no longer on sale there.
  • A retailer may be removed if its website is no longer reachable, if its prices can no longer be collected reliably, if it stops trading, or in case of misleading practices.
  • A retailer can ask to stop being listed by writing to contact@buildmyrig.gg.

Default Ranking

  • A product’s offers: ranked by price, lowest first. The compared price is the retailer’s price excluding tax, converted to euros if needed, to which we apply the VAT rate of your country, so every offer is compared on the same basis. Delivery costs are not included. When your country is known, retailers that deliver there come first and the others follow in a separate section. Availability is shown for each offer; in the builder, out-of-stock offers are hidden by default.
  • Headline price on product pages and in lists: the cheapest offer in stock, or simply the cheapest if none is in stock.
  • Catalogue: by popularity, meaning the number of member builds that include the product. You can also sort by price or by name.
  • Deals: by type (lowest price ever recorded, then price drop, then back in stock), then by discount percentage, then by detection date.
  • Community builds: most recently created or edited first.

None of these rankings takes any payment or partnership into account.

Commercial Relationships

  • Affiliate links: some retailers and brands run an affiliate programme, directly or through an affiliate network. If you buy after clicking, we may receive a commission. Whether a commission exists, and how much it is, has no effect on listing or ranking: a more expensive affiliate offer appears after a cheaper non-affiliate one.
  • Creator codes: some promo codes belong to partner content creators. They can change the link to the retailer, never the order of offers.
  • Services for retailers: Build My Rig may offer retailers tools, for example a dashboard to monitor their prices. These services have no effect on listing or ranking.
  • Hardware reviews: the company that publishes Build My Rig also publishes Gaga Racing (website and YouTube channel), which reviews hardware sometimes lent by brands. These relationships have no effect on the comparison.

Prices and Information Shown

Prices and availability are checked regularly but can change at any time: only the price shown by the retailer when you order is binding. Build My Rig does not sell any product; ordering, delivery, returns and warranties are the retailer’s responsibility.
