FAQ

What is FOV in sim racing?
FOV (Field of View) is the angular extent of the game world visible on your screen. Setting the correct FOV gives you an accurate sense of speed, depth, and distance — just like looking through a real windshield.
Why does correct FOV matter?
An incorrect FOV distorts your perception of speed and distance, making braking points harder to judge. The correct FOV matches your physical screen geometry so 1:1 scale is preserved.
How do I measure eye-to-screen distance?
Measure from your eyes (in driving position) straight to the center of your monitor. Use a tape measure in centimeters for best accuracy.
What about triple screen setups?
With triple screens, each side monitor should be angled inward. The calculator accounts for bezel gaps and provides the total FOV across all three panels, plus the optimal side screen angle.
Why do different games use different FOV types?
Some games (iRacing, BeamNG) use horizontal FOV, while others (Assetto Corsa, ACC, rFactor 2) use vertical FOV. EA Sports WRC uses a custom slider. This calculator converts to each game's native format automatically.
